In the closing stretch of the bout, Ethan Page attempted to mock Punk by nailing Williams with a Go To Sleep. After Williams kicked out of a pinfall attempt at two, Punk threw a two count signal in Page's face, much to the approval of the fans in attendance.

After escaping out of an Ego's Edge, Trick Williams was backed into the corner by CM Punk, allowing Page to attempt a kick in the corner. Williams dodged the attack, bounced off the ropes, and nailed Page with a Trick Shot before going on to score the pinfall victory moments later.

As the show was going off the air, CM Punk nailed Page with a Go To Sleep of his own as Trick Williams celebrated with the crowd.

With the loss, Ethan Page's reign with the NXT Championship comes to an end at the 87 day mark. Furthermore, Trick Williams begins his second reign with the NXT Championship after Page ended his first run back in July.
