In December 2014, CM Punk and UFC announced that Punk had signed a multi-fight deal with the company and he would step foot inside the Octagon.
It would take almost two years, but at UFC 203 on September 10, 2016, Punk made his MMA debut, losing to Mickey Gall in the first round by submission.
His disclosed payout for the fight was $500,000.
According to Bloody Elbow and unsealed UFC lawsuit documents, Punk was paid $1,042,736 for the fight.
The information comes to light due to the class action lawsuit against the UFC. On Wednesday, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied the UFC's appeal and a trial is likely in 2024.
Punk fought again, returning to the Octagon at UFC 225 on June 9, 2018. He lost a unanimous decision to Mike Jackson, but the decision was overturned to a No Contest due to Jackson testing positive for marijuana.
Punk retired from MMA after the fight, but still does commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
