Cody Rhodes finishes the saga with Brock Lesnar.
In their third encounter, Cody Rhodes definitively defeated Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam 2023. Although there was no stipulation to the match, it was a violent encounter, with both men brawling all around the ringside area, with Brock Lesnar attempting to win by count out on multiple occasions, even hitting an F5 on the floor and one through the announce table. Cody Rhodes was able to use the steel steps and not get disqualified because the referee was showing some discretion..
In the end, Cody Rhodes was able to survive several F5s, a Kimura Lock, and vicious suplex throws to hit multiple CrossRhodes in succession for the victory.
After the match, Brock Lesnar showed an uncharacteristic amount of respect by shaking Cody Rhodes' hand and embracing him before raising his arm in victory for the massive crowd at Ford Field.
