Cody Rhodes Hopes To Gain Up To 100 Pounds When He's Done Wrestling, Still Wants To Hit All His Moves During Legend Appearances

When Cody Rhodes is done being the American Nightmare, he wants to live the American Dream.

Cody Rhodes is currently the top star in WWE and the current WWE Champion. As such, he is in excellent condition and has regularly worked out since he was a teenager. However, when he's done wrestling, he is ready to live his life to the fullest and not worry so much about appearance, openly saying he hopes to gain up to 100 pounds following retirement.

Speaking with Bianca Belair on the latest episode of his special "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" series on YouTube, Cody detailed this ideal post-retirement physique.

"I'm trying to warn everybody, when this is done, I'd like to at least put on 75 to 100 pounds," he said. "Anything that's even like [my] jawline, I want it gone. I've done this since I was 14. I've been working out since I was 14, which, you shouldn't start working out when you're 14, but like, redneck parents and my dad and everything... I don't know, a Tommy Bahama shirt, khaki shorts, red, sunburned, kind of consistently. I don't know what that look is, but that's my ideal [look for when I'm in my] 60s."

Furthermore, Rhodes said he still wants to be able to hit all of his signature moves when he makes appearances as a WWE legend on future episodes of SmackDown, citing Adrian Adonis as inspiration for a star who puts on weight that can still move with great agility in between the ropes.

"Guys, I don't want it edited that I want to gain that much weight because I want to put it out in the universe. So, I'm complimenting myself, but if there's a Legends SmackDown ten years from now, they're like, 'Bro, don't put him out there.' I want to be able to still do the moves. That would be great because a lot of the bigger dudes can go. Adrian Adonis was like 400 pounds at one point in his career, and he was moving like a cruiserweight actually."

There you have it. Cody Rhodes is having the time of his life at the top of WWE, but much like one Edge first retired in 2011, he will be excited to eat all the ice cream he wants because he doesn't have to wear tights the next day.

Cody Rhodes also comes from a family with no shame in reminding folks that they can still get the job done even if they don't look like the athlete of the day.

Cody Rhodes recently praised WWE for handling their Legends with great respect under the current regime following his recent reconnection with Arn Anderson at WWE SummerSlam 2024. Learn more here.
