Heyman accepted and told Rhodes his partner had to be someone who completed at WrestleMania. He also said that if Rhodes lost, he would never again challenge for the title as long as Reigns was the champion. Brock Lesnar came to the ring and practically hugged Cody, making it clear that he would team up with "The American Nightmare."

The tag team bout headlined the show, but before the bell even rang, Lesnar shocked everyone by attacking Rhodes and dropping him with an F-5. He hit another F-5, prompting Reigns and Sikoa to leave.

Lesnar proceeded to hit Rhodes with a chair. and he left him lying with a vicious assault. He even hit Rhodes with the steel steps.

Officials checked on Rhodes, and Lesnar teased continuing the assault after he already walked away. Instead, he flipped off the camera as a stretcher was brought out for Cody.
