Cody Rhodes and Triple H have worked hand-in-hand since Triple H took over creative following Vince McMahon's retirement and then resignation.
After winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL, Cody called Triple H to the ring to join in the celebration. The following night on WWE Raw, Triple H was the first man to welcome Cody to the ring to begin a new era in WWE.
Speaking to ESPN, Cody said about Triple H, "Triple H in the ring had world-champion instincts long before he ever was one. He applies those instincts expertly today as chief content officer. He was also amongst a handful of players ahead of the curve in terms of evolving the sport which he showcased with the NXT black-and-gold era.
"When the moment came for him to take over with Nick Khan and lead the ship creatively, he helped guide WWE to massive television ratings and social engagement increases. I take the field for him with immense pride."
Cody has dubbed himself "QB 1" in WWE, taking on the leadership and responsibilities that go along with being the starting quarterback of a team.
