Cole Radrick & Alec Price won the GCW Tag Team Champions at The People vs. GCW, defeating Violence Is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini).
Violence Is Forever held the titles for 442 days, but their reign ended at the Hammerstein Ballroom in what many considered the match of the night.
Appearing on The Spotlight with Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen, Radrick reflected on the victory.
"It's awesome to finally win the Tag Team Championships with Alec Price, beating Violence is Forever. It's fucking awesome. To not only win the World Tag Team Championships, to not only win with Alec Price, but to win it at such a historic venue as the Hammerstein Ballroom. There are people older than me who watched ECW when it was ECW when they would run Hammerstein and it was always amazing. My first glimpse of it was Tommy Dreamer and Sandman against the Dudleys in 2005. I remember watching Sandman's entrance and how electric that feeling must have been. To get a glimpse of it and be part of Hammerstein for the second time is something that it really cool," he said.
Radrick, Price, Ku, and Garrini have traveled for years throughout the indies, competing as opponents and partners during their respective journeys.
"That was one of the conversations had leading up to Hammerstein, during, and after. Ku and I have known each other for almost seven or eight years, we first met at Basement East. To see my friendships and relationships grow with these people, to see how we evolve over time. If you had told me seven or eight years ago that me, Ku, Dom, and Alec would be having one of the marquee matches at GCW Hammerstein, I'd be like 'Hmmm, that doesn't sound right.' To have that happen now and to be in that moment with those people, it's awesome. It's one of those things where 20 years from now, as long as I can remember it, I'm going to look back and be like, 'I made some cool memories, cool friends, and had cool moments,'" he said.
The victory started the first reign as GCW Tag Team Champions for The Gahbage Daddies.
