D-Von Dudley got his first big break in professional wrestling working for Paul Heyman. But after his time in ECW, he and Bubba Ray Dudley went to work for Vince McMahon and WWE.

Matt Hardy Comments On How Much Longer He Intends To Wrestle

During the latest video on his YouTube channel, D-Von Dudley discussed one of the characteristics that made working for McMahon difficult, his pension for dressing down talent verbally if a segment did not go to his exact liking. However, D-Von also said that the very same quality was positive when a segment went off perfectly and McMahon had the ability to make talents feel like the biggest star in the world.

"In terms of Vince McMahon, some of the things I didn't like when you did something wrong, you knew that your ass was in trouble and you had to face him," he said. "Nobody wanted to walk that hall of shame or having to listen to Vince berate them, it's probably [because] it makes you feel like you're a child. You're a grown-ass man, and yet you're getting berated like there's no tomorrow. He makes you feel that small, but then when he wants to praise you, he makes you feel that big. So that's one of the things I love about Vince, he has that way of -- it's like a puppeteer. He can make you happy, he can make you sad. It all depends on how you make him feel. That's some of the qualities I like and some of the qualities I dislike of Vince."

D-Von Dudley also recently discussed the time Vince McMahon used a racial slur at the 2005 WWE Survivor Series. Read his comments here.

Today, McMahon is no longer at the helm of WWE. Former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The complaint charges McMahon with sexual assault and sex trafficking. On May 30, 2024, Grant agreed to put the case on hold for six months while the government investigation against McMahon continued, who resigned from TKO/WWE after the complaint was filed. The litigation is still ongoing.
