D-Von Dudley Reveals How He Would've Reacted If He Was There When Vince McMahon Used The N-Word At WWE Survivor Series 2005

D-Von Dudley watches the clip of Vince McMahon using the N-word at WWE Survivor Series 2005.

D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray Dudley had already left WWE for TNA Wrestling by the time Vince McMahon used the N-word on a WWE pay-per-view during the backstage segment with John Cena. At the time, Cena was still in the final phase of his rapper gimmick, and the segment was played for laughs with Booker T appearing at the end to say, "Tell me he didn't just say that!"

D-Von Dudley recently watched a clip from a video with Maven in which they discuss some of the more racist moments in WWE history.

"I don't know what to say about that. Luckily, I wasn't in the company during that time. I was in another organization, but damn," he began.

Maven brings up John Cena's gimmick at the time and asks how John didn't stop Vince, D-Von responds, "Well when you have a white guy doing rap music, in the black community, there's lines that you don't cross, even if you're not the one doing it."

D-Von says that if he had been there at the time, any anxieties he had about approaching Vince McMahon would have immediately dissipated, and he would've told him how wrong the moment was.

"I think that'd be the point in time with fear of talking to Vince like so many people have, I think that fear would be gone. I'd be like, 'Dude, that ain't fucking right?' You don't do shit like that. You just don't. I don't even like it when black people do it, but I always felt like in the movie Malcolm X, where he said, 'A lot of these guys traded in their white sheets for suits.' Not saying that Mr. McMahon did that. I'm not saying that at all, but a lot of people in this organization, I felt, did that."

That particular segment has since been removed from the version of the WWE Survivor Series 2005 pay-per-view on Peacock.

Maven admitted that he's not sure he would have been able to say anything at the time, knowing that Vince McMahon signed his checks. Fans can learn about how much money Maven made during his career in WWE here.
