Damian Priest Cashes In, Wins World Heavyweight Title After Drew McIntyre Wins At WWE WrestleMania XL Night Two

Damian Priest crashed Drew McIntyre's moment.

At WWE WrestleMania XL Night Two, Drew McIntyre challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. CM Punk was on commentary for the match, and he ultimately made his presence known in a major way.

McIntyre drilled Rollins with a Claymore right when the bell rang for a near fall. Rollins persevered and kept fighting. He and Rollins continued to battle it out. McIntyre stared down Punk at the commentary team and later mocked him with a "GTS" taunt. Rollins countered the GTS, and he kept fighting as he hit McIntyre with a Stomp. Rollins' recently-injured knee was clearly a factor, as he was not 100% after he and Cody Rhodes lost to Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL Night One.

In the end, McIntyre hit a Claymore out of nowhere for the win, and he finally got his major moment in front of fans.

McIntyre confronted Punk and talked some trash, and he even threatened to end Punk's career. Punk attacked McIntyre and left him vulnerable, prompting Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre. Priest then won the title by hitting McIntyre with the South of Heaven. In doing so, he captured his first world title in WWE.

Rollins' reign ended at 316 days. He won the title at WWE Night of Champions 2023. McIntyre's win marked his first reign with the World Heavyweight Championship, but he is a two-time WWE Champion.
