Danny Limelight has his eyes set on the future.
With all of the changes ongoing in the wrestling industry, it is an exciting time for wrestlers to consider their future. Danny Limelight, who used to be a regular on AEW Dark and currently works for MLW as part of a tag team with Slice Boogie is watching the changes unfold in WWE and tells Shakiel Mahjouri that he has been talking to his tag team partner about their future and potentially landing in another promotion.
Even outside of WWE, Limelight remains open to landing IMPACT, AEW, or New Japan. He would, however, prefer to end up in a promotion that doesn't currently have a gimmick similar to what he and Boogie bring to the table.
"I'm motivated, you know? It makes me hungry, because now there's new life in a company that I grew up watching," he said. "I have a lot of friends that work there. I heard some things back in the day, especially when all the budget cuts were happening, and people were losing their jobs and stuff like that, unfortunately. But now I see the shift, and it's real easy to see the shift in the last two-and-a-half weeks, how different things are looking. I'm excited, I've always wanted to wrestle for WWE. That obviously was my dream job as a kid, I want to wrestle at Madison Square Garden. So, I've been talking to Slice Boogie about my ideas, where I stand, where my head is at for when our contracts finish, and what I want to do.
"I think that me and Slice have something that NXT doesn't have, that WWE doesn't have right now, and I think that we can do some fun, we can have some fun wherever we go, even if we went to IMPACT or AEW," Limelight continued. "One thing with AEW is that they have Santana and Ortiz, you know, so it would be kind of the same thing. You know, that's, that's my only concern. Unless they did some kind of fucking supergroup. But as far as other companies, New Japan doesn't have anything like us, IMPACT doesn’t have anything like us, WWE doesn't have anything like us. The closest thing WWE has is The Usos and it's not the same thing."
Currently, MLW is on hiatus and their new season will begin later this fall. Until then, MLW is presenting Super Series, a promotional event with multiple partners including AAA Lucha Libre and DagonGate. Learn more here.
