Darby Allin wants to tap into his inner Evel Knievel.
Darby Allin already plans on climbing Mount Everest and quite frequently throws caution, and any concern for his physical well-being, to the wind when wrestling for AEW. However, once Allin conquers Mount Everest, he wants to perform an Evel Knievel-esque stunt on live television.
The stunt would see him jump a car over a line of buses and if he has it his way, he will take place in the parking lot of an arena on live television.
“That’s a big thing that I actually want to do when I get back from Everest. I want to have a live stunt on TV, where we have a bunch of buses lined up and I jump a car over them," he explained to Chaz & AJ on 99.1 PLR. "I think there needs to be something like that again. In the world of TV, just like, ‘At the top of the hour, will he die?’ [Laughs]"
Darby says he would prefer for the stunt to take place on live television because, "Why not." He also reflected on a stunt where he jumped the Jeep over his house and explained why he wouldn't want to do this particular stunt at his house.
"Live TV. I just feel like why not. [Asked how many cars would he would jump]. I don’t know. When I jumped the Jeep over my house, that was 96 feet. But the only thing with that is there was no landing ramp. We landed on mobile home trailers.
“I don’t want to do it at my house. I want to do it live at an arena, like in the parking lot," he added. "In the parking lot of an arena, we’ll just block off, where we’re performing that night, in the front of the arena, there’s a row of buses, and I just want to jump that. So it’s live for the crowd, so some people can come outside and watch at the top of the hour."
Darby Allin was already supposed to have begun the journey of climbing Mount Everest but a leg injury prevented that from happening earlier in 2024.
Cody Rhodes has stated that Darby can be the face of AEW, but he's a little leery of Darby's recklessness. Read Cody's comments here.
