Former WCW superstar Diamond Dallas Page has retired his well-known finisher.
DDP has put an end to the Diamond Cutter, his well known finisher, performing the last one at Pro Wrestling Blitz's WrestleFest 7, Aug. 13 in Romeoville, Illinois. After delivering his final finisher to indie wrestler Matty Star, Page cut a promo and said the following, according to Cageside Seats.
"I thought my last Diamond Cutter was going to be at WrestleMania. But then when I heard I had the shot to do my last Diamond Cutter at a house show ever in Chicago ... You know, this area, this whole Illinois area, especially Chicago, has always been my home away from home. When I get a chance to do something for Frankie and Tony and come up here at 60 years young, I want to be walking out with my head still held high. And I want to do it for you people because I love the city of Chicago."
DDP is a three time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, a four time WCW World Tag Team champion and has held other titles in WCW. He is also a former WWF European and Tag Team champion.
Page appeared at two big WWE pay per views in the last two years. In 2015, DDP competed in the Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant. He performed his finisher on Stardust, Bray Wyatt and Fandango, before being eliminated by Rusev. He also competed at WrestleMania 32 in the 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. He was eliminated by SmackDown superstar Konnor of The Ascension.
Most recently, DDP has been developing and promoting DDP YOGA, his yoga program that has been used by WWE superstars such as Mick Foley, Chris Jericho and others. Page originally developed the program for athletes like himself who had suffered years of injuries due to high impact sports.
