Deonna Purrazzo Explains "The Virtuosa" Moniker

The Virtuosa Deonna Purrazzo wanted her nickname to be different.

Over the last five years, Deonna Purrazzo has been wrestling for many promotions including Ring of Honor, WWE, and NXT. In an interview with A Music Blog, Yea?, Purrazzo talked about her wrestling fandom when she was a child and how she gravitated towards technical and athletic wrestlers who would shape who she became as a wrestler. Since coming to Ring of Honor, she has been going by "The Virtuosa" and explained how she came up with the nickname.

"When I first started working with Ring of Honor, they were like 'you need a moniker. your name is great but you need something else,'" said Purrazzo. " I didn't want just be like 'The Technician' or 'The Mechanic'. It was like how do I come up with something that's pretty and more feminine. I actually just googled all these different translations for a technician or someone who excels in something," she added. 

Purrazzo will be taking part in the Ring of Honor War of the Worlds tour on two nights including her match against Kelly Klein on the last night of the tour in Chicago
