Deonna Purrazzo made her WWE Raw debut on Dec. 16, taking on Asuka in singles competition. Later in the night, on an episode taped for the following week, Purrazzo's best friend and tag team partner Chelsea Green made her Raw debut, squaring off against Charlotte Flair.
In a behind the scenes video released by WWE, Purrazzo gave her thoughts on the debut.
"It's weird that, in a good way, we were brought together. But I wish we were tagging then it's like, no pressure, and you get to do it with your best friend," Purrazzo said prior to Raw.
After her match against Asuka, Purrazzo commented, "The crazy part is that it's the first time I got to wrestle as me on such a big stage. I think that's where my nerves came from. 'Oh, I get to be the actual Deonna Purrazzo.' This is a moment for me, which I've never really gotten before. Moments like this make it worthwhile. Now, to go back to the Performance Center -- 8 am, I have a gym class -- it's motivating because 'okay, now I have to be in better shape' and all the things that come with being a WWE superstar, I can implement at the PC."
She continued, discussing her friendship with Green and being able to share their debuts on the same night.
"Chelsea and I have shared such a similar path, so getting the text together and being able to travel together, we didn't know what to expect. We were like, 'think the worst, so any good thing will be grand.' There's no one else I would have wanted to do this with. It's a good way to finish the year. Together."
The two NXT superstars are a regular team on at NXT live events and were shown on NXT television together, but have yet to make their in-ring television debut as a team on the gold brand.
