Derrick Lewis talks UFC 291.
Derrick Lewis worked in a little pro wrestling to his UFC 291 victory over Marcos Rogério de Lima, starting the fight with a v-trigger (a running/jumping knee) that knocked Lima down. Lewis quickly followed up with swarming punches on the ground, leading to a TKO victory. After winning, Lewis took his fight shorts off and and hit everyone at home with crotch chops.
Speaking to The Schmo, Lewis was asked about his DX tribute.
"That's my old, 1999, early 2000s, that's when wrestling was real back then. The good ol' days," he said.
Asked what his wrestling name would be, Lewis replied, "Rikishi 2.0"
Asked if he would take his shorts down and give opponents a stink face like Rikishi, Lewis said, "For sure, yes."
Finally, Lewis asked what opponents would be smelling, Lewis replied, "Probably chicken grease."
Lewis is currently a free agent following his UFC 291 victory as his UFC contract expired.
