Drew McIntyre sent a heated message to Roman Reigns on the August 26 episode of WWE SmackDown.
In a lengthy two-part video package, McIntyre looked back at his journey to WWE Clash at the Castle, dating back to his days when he was a wrestling fan as a kid. He reflected on his failed first WWE run and the way he scratched and clawed his way back to the company.
The video also highlighted his triumph at WWE WrestleMania 36 before it shifted gears. McIntyre turned his attention to Reigns and told him that he's coming to his island at Clash at the Castle. He closed out the message by vowing to kick Reigns' "fucking" head off, but the broadcast bleeped it out.

Later in the show, McIntyre defeated The Bloodline's honorary Uce, Sami Zayn in the main event. Reigns and The Usos brutally attacked "The Scottish Warrior" and hit him with the steel stairs after the bell. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion choked McIntyre out and said, "The top of the mountain is mine." He told McIntyre that he'd never take the top spot until he was done with it.
