Drew McIntyre: Personal Rivalries Is Where The Money Is At

Drew McIntyre speaks ahead of WWE SummerSlam.

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are finally set to clash at WWE SummerSlam in a match that has been building since WWE Royal Rumble when McIntyre injured Punk. Though Punk hasn't been able to get into the ring, he has remained on television, engaging and screwing McIntyre out of multiple opportunities to win the WWE World Championship.

The personal grudge between the two is looked at by some fans as being the main event of WWE SummerSlam despite no title being involved.

"That means a lot. I heard it a few times since I got here. The fans were asked, they didn't even know I was there, 'What do you think the main event should be?' They said, 'Punk and McIntyre.' The deep, layered storytelling we can do it. Personal rivalries is where it's at. That's where the money is at. That's what makes people feel. If they're feeling something out of this Punk and McIntyre feud, they should because it's real. It does mean a lot to me. If anyone is on after us, good luck, folks," McIntyre said on Busted Open Radio.

Along with staying active on television, McIntyre has trolled CM Punk in social media to add more depth to the storyline.
