What are your thoughts about Edge's comparison of Finn Balor and Jeff Hardy?
WWE Hall Of Famer Edge and former two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian welcomed Finn Balor onto their Pod Of Awesomeness ahead of Balor's Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar that took place last night at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Balor was unable to dethrone "The Beast" but put up a fight in an attempt to end Lesnar's reign as champion. Fans of Finn have been calling upon WWE to get him in the ring with Brock and that loyal fan base was brought up during Balor's conversation with Edge and Christian.
Edge mentioned how Jeff Hardy has a similar connection and compared Jeff and Finn's special connections to the audience and here's the full quote of what "The Rated-R Superstar" said:
“We’ve talked about how you have a connection with the audience and sometimes it’s just easier to make a comparison and I’ve always kind of compared it to Jeff [Hardy], and for years, Jeff had that kind of connection with the audience but the trigger never fully got pulled on him and, eventually it did, and the first time he won the title, he pinned me after crushing me with a Swanton, and that’s the closest comparison." Edge said. "I think you distinctly have your own thing going on but that’s the closest comparison I can think of in terms of crowd reaction wise.”
