Edge Reveals When He Tore His Triceps, Says It May Have Been Partially Torn Going Into WWE Backlash

Randy Orton not only proved to be The Greatest Wrestler Ever by defeating Edge at WWE Backlash, he put Edge on the sidelines as well.

Coming out of the match, Edge suffered a torn triceps, which will put him on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to Booker T on Booker's Hall of Fame podcast, Edge discussed his injury and the moment he felt it.

"We're going through the match, and contrary to reports, we did it once, straight through. Coming back, I wanted to recalibrate my style and really make it a Bret Hart kind of feel to my matches. A lot less high spots, more grappling, wrestling, fighting, selling, the little things we talk about. We're doing this match and we got a cue that was like 35 minutes. I'm like, 'Woah, alright, I'm doing great, this is awesome.' I did a springboard into the second RKO and I went 'Oh.' I got the cold sweats and I feel like I'm gonna throw up, that's usually a sign. That's where it popped. I thought, 'Okay, I have more in the tank to finish this out.' We got it finished, we tried to do pick-up shots, I didn't like them, but we were trying to add something different," he said.

"We got to the back and I'm like, 'I think something happened to my tricep. I don't think it's complete, but it feels like something.' They felt around and said, 'We think it might be complete.' By the time I got the surgery, the surgeon said, 'You probably went in with it partially torn because the tissue was very diseased.' My elbow had been bugging me for a month, but it only bugged me when I did chest and triceps. Here's what I learned going forward; I need to listen to those signs. I didn't listen. I just thought, 'Ah, I got chips in my elbows.'"

Edge went on to say that he was thankful the injury occurred in the later stages of the matches because had it happened early on, he wasn't sure he would be able to continue.

Despite being sidelined, Edge still appeared on the June 22 episode of WWE Raw, cutting a promo on Orton and vowing that the feud must continue.
