Edge gives further insight to his contract status.
Ahead of his match against Sheamus on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, Edge told ET Canada that the bout was the final match on his current WWE contract.
Speaking to FAN Morning Show in an interview recorded before WWE SmackDown, Edge revealed that while Friday was the final match on his contract, his contract does not expire until the end of September.
"I can't say I haven't thought about it, I have, for sure, but I realize that I haven't come to any conclusions, and I'm kind of torn, honestly. I don't want to do this to the point where I don't feel like I'm able to have the output that I want. Only I know how I feel when I'm deep into a match. 'Ooff, Okay, didn't do enough cardio' or 'I did all the cardio and still feel this way.' That's why I really want to collect myself after this thing, take a big ol' deep breath and decide what that is. My contract is up at the end of September. This is my last contracted match. I have a lot of decisions to make. I can't do it now. I have to see how Friday goes. I know that's not a clear answer, but I don't have it yet," he said.
Edge was victorious against Sheamus on Friday's WWE SmackDown. After the show went off the air, Edge stated that he doesn't know what the future holds, but he doesn't believe he'll wrestle in Toronto again.
After the match, he did share a pint with Sheamus.
A Canadian & an Irishman had a brawl that would make a banshee bawl.. what then? They had a pint of Guinness and said good night & thank you all. #ThankYouEdge #Edge25 pic.twitter.com/QmkbOnB5h2
