Eli Drake has arrived.
During the pre-show for Ring of Honor's Best in the World event, Nick Aldis announced Eli Drake as the newest signing of the National Wrestling Alliance. Drake will team with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion against The Briscoe Brothers during tonight's Best in the World pay-per-view.
Aldis needed a tag team partner after Colt Cabana suffered a leg injury and had to pull out of the bout. NWA teased Aldis' tag team partner all week before delivering on the pre-show.

Drake is a former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion but was released from the company in April after making disparaging remarks against IMPACT and its creative team on an episode of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast. Drake's contract was set to expire in May but IMPACT blocked him from taking other dates and was hoping to slap him with a one-year non-compete clause. He officially became a free agent on June 4.
