Elias: Ezekiel Is Still In A Coma, I Keep My Distance To Protect Myself Emotionally

Elias gives an update on his brother Ezekiel's condition after being assaulted by Kevin Owens and stretchered out of WWE Monday Night Raw on Monday, August 8, 2022.

Ezekiel came into the WWE Universe like a lightning bolt. Every week, Zeke was so geeked to speak with all of his Zeke Freaks that he nearly leaked.

Throughout his entire run in WWE, Ezekiel was in a rivalry with Kevin Owens, who was just determined to prove that Ezekiel and Elias were not brothers because they were, in fact, the same person.

Early on, Ezekiel would get the better of Kevin Owens, but on Monday, August 8, 2022, Kevin Owens ran through Ezekiel on Monday Night Raw and beat him so badly that he was stretchered out of the arena, never to be seen again. Elias would return to WWE on October 17 and say that his brother's career was "tragically cut short."

Now, Elias has given an even sadder update on his brother Ezekiel. During a recent appearance on WWE Die Woche, Elias revealed that medical reports suggest his brother is still in a coma in the hospital. However, Elias says he distances himself from the situation in an effort to protect his emotional state.

"Yeah, I gotta be honest with you. The boss is in way more contact with him than I am. He wants to know like, 'When's he going to be back? How is he? The truth is all the reports I get [say] that he's still in a coma. He's in the hospital recovering, ever since he was taken out by Kevin Owens. I don't know if you remember when the whole family was gathered by the hospital bed. You know, I kind of keep my distance now to protect myself emotionally. It's hard to see my brother like that, but all the reports I get say that he is still in a coma. We're hoping for a recovery, though."

Simply tragic.

Elias and Ezekiel have another brother, Elrod, who was once advertised as a potential opponent for Kevin Owens but never made his WWE debut. Perhaps after seeing what happened to Zeke, Elrod thought the better of it.

Fightful continues to wish Zeke a speedy recovery, and our thoughts are with the Samson family at this time.
