The night after WrestleMania 34 was a memorable night for Ember Moon as she made her main roster debut on Raw. Moon had been in NXT since September 2015 and had become one of the top female superstars on the yellow brand. She won the NXT Women's Title in November 2017 before losing it to Shayna Baszler the night before WrestleMania 34 at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.
Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Moon revealed her reaction to being told she would be called up to the main roster during WrestleMania weekend.
"It's almost like a blur. I remember getting to TakeOver and I was just like [zombie imitation]. TakeOver was over, we had a meeting, Triple H finished his Facebook live stream. They told everyone to wait after and it's 1 a.m. There's no sleep happening," she recalled. "I remember them pulling me into a room and it's Sara Amato, Matt Bloom and Triple H. They said, 'We really gotta talk.' I thought, 'Oh man, I'm in trouble.' They were all stone faced and I was like a little kid at that moment. I don't know what I thought they were going to say. Triple H goes, 'Thank you for all your work, we appreciate you and everything you've done in NXT but...you're going to Monday Night Raw.' I just remember, there was no composure left in me. I drop down and started crying. There's a camera in my face and I'm like, 'Why are there always cameras?' And I'm crying and snotting. And Triple H goes, 'This is your life now.'"
Moon continued, discussing what it was like when she showed up to Raw following WrestleMania.
"They told me, 'You're getting drafted to Raw.' That was all. I thought, 'Okay, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna watch the show.' Someone comes up and says, 'Why are you in your dress? You're in the first segment.' I still get goosebumps about it now," she said. "My favorite thing had to be when Nic said my name, I was in the backstage position. The room we were in was physically shaking as my music hit. I was like, 'Oh my god. They like me.' I shuttered a bit backstage because I was so happy."
Moon main evented last week's episode of Raw, teaming with Ronda Rousey to face Tamina and Nia Jax.
