Adam "Hangman" Page has accomplished a lot over the last year. Signing with AEW, being an ROH Six-Man Tag Champion, stole the show at ROH Final Battle.......got hauled off by inflatable penises at All In.
Yes, the man who declared his intent to be AEW's first World Champion also had a feud that culminated at All In Back in September, which saw a dead zombie wrestler return to avenge his murder by sending "penis druids" after Page. We interviewed one of them last year, and Page himself opened up to Fightful recently about the story, and how his family and friends were in for a big surprise (no pun intended).
"I knew what I was building to for All In. For almost a year, I had a feud with Joey Ryan about penis envy, then it turned into this murder-mystery -- his res-erection, and being brought ringside by a bunch of inflatable penises. I knew this was where it was going and something I wanted to do, just because it was different. I love that kind of thing. It wasn't something I talked a lot with family and friends, because I knew what the payoff was going to be. It was going to be a lot harder to explain than for them to enjoy. I didn't even explain to my parents that All In was a big deal. For a lot of fans, that was the highlight of All In because of how preposterous it was, and because in the grand scheme of things, it made sense!" Page told us.
Joey Ryan hasn't officially signed with All Elite Wrestling, and is currently involved in a class-action lawsuit against Lucha Underground, but he has remained a regular on the Being the Elite web series. Page is set to face PAC in a match at Double or Nothing that will likely result in less dong-related activities, much to the chagrin of Neville-stan Twitter.
You can see our full interview with Hangman Page above, and you can check him out in action against Pac on May 25 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada at AEW's Double or Nothing.
