Becky Lynch WWE-Contract Rumor Killer

There's some Becky Lynch misinformation afoot.

One of our readers in the Q&A brought this to our attention:

CMLL Sábado De Coliseo (11/16/2024) Results: Bárbaros & Villano III Jr Team Up, Neón vs. Magnus, More

On the latest episode of the Backstage Pass, Jonathan Coachman said:

“Roman’s at that 15-20 million mark, and TKO doesn’t want to pay anybody. […] Then you got Cody Rhodes, who’s making 10-15 reportedly. Then Seth, who is her [Becky Lynch] better half, he’s probably in that three to seven million range. So reportedly, she was asking for over two million a year. […] They didn’t do it..[...] If they paid her, she’d be on the show. And they’re desperate for females right now.”

Fightful reached out to a half dozen sources in the know who all immediately shot down these rumors.

We're told that Becky Lynch and WWE are still on good terms, and WWE was respecting Lynch's decision to take time off. Those we spoke to in WWE claimed that if Lynch wanted to sign a deal before her absence, they likely would have done that.

The $2 million number was outright denied by everyone who would know it. Lynch didn't ask for that amount, and we're told WWE would have jumped at that number if she did. The general pay scale for talent at the top or near the top of WWE and AEW are both well beyond that amount now. Lynch's contract would be well beyond 2M a year.

In speaking with both sides upon Becky's absence, it was intimated that each side expected to work together in the future if the situation called for it.

The only number in that quote that was said to be accurate was Seth Rollins, and there are no reputable outlets reporting the other numbers.
