Big Dave has high praise for Cabana Man Dan.

WWE SmackDown Preview, Start Time, How To Watch (3/21): CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns To Appear

Before Dave arrived to the company in 2021, Cabana Man Dan started working with New South Pro Wrestling at one of the promotion's first events in 2016.

To this day, Dave and Dan have only faced off in one singles match. While chatting with Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen of Fightful Overbooked's Spotlight podcast for a new interview, Dave talked about his relationship with Dan and how he was a fan of him before he even started wrestling.

"I love Dan. I love that old dude. He’s my buddy. I cried when Cabana Man Dan won HOSS. I was in the crowd and cried when he won HOSS. That’s how much Dan meant to me. As a fan, I didn’t even know him, but watching and the connection I felt to Dan, I cried when he won HOSS. Like a little baby. He loves to hold that over my head and bring it up. He means a lot to me and a lot to New South, and Indie wrestling as a whole. He transcends (the southern scene). He’s one of those guys who has been around for a long time. He’s a wealth of knowledge. I was very fortunate to have him have a hand in my training."

Elsewhere in the interview, Dave praised Mad Dog Connelly and said that he'd love to share the ring with him. Learn more by clicking here.
