Boots Murphy talks Hard Knox Pro Wrestling.
Hard Knox Pro Wrestling is an independent wrestling promotion based out of Limerick, Ireland. The promotion is home to some of the brightest young Irish stars, and recently held their latest event, Hard Knox Warzone on March 10th.
One name who has become a common face in the promotion as well as Over The Top Wrestling is Boots Murphy, who was trained out of The School Of Irish Wrestling. While speaking to Fightful in a recent interview, Boots discussed Hard Knox, calling it a freedom promotion.
"Hard Knocks is kind of like a freedom promotion for somebody like me or a Cian Noonan or a Con Kelly where we can kind of express and create matches by ourselves without the guidance of a veteran, you're always going to get a better match when you have somebody guiding you to a better match because of their experiences and what they have done and what works for them. Because they're in this business for however many years because of what they've done previously and like Paddy Morrow, they're very good at the psychology side of wrestling but when you get that chance in Hard Knocks to wrestle one of your peers it's a creative like collaboration that you have rather than just performing and following a script. This is like your story, your baby and eventually I will get the opportunity in OTT. I'm not saying Joe (Carbray) is meticulous with everything, it's far from that but you're going to be paired with somebody, at least one person that is not new, that's not fresh, that's been seasoned. So yeah, that's why I kind of contribute Hard Knocks to my freedom. Still one of my favorite matches, one of my best matches is against Anita Vaughan on the very first Hard Knocks show I was on. I think it was their second show.That was me and her kind of creating this match that felt like, for the first time, where I could be actually creative and it was our baby. I had a contribution, a heavy contribution to that match. That's why I really enjoy about Hard Knocks is the trust they have in me."
Boots recently kicked off OTT Gaff Party Dublin, getting the crowd ready for the show with the opening segment.
