Cody Rhodes: From A Factual Standpoint, This Is The New Golden Era Of Wrestling

Cody Rhodes explains why he believes the modern era of wrestling is the new "golden era."

Debating which era is the best era in wrestling is not a new topic for wrestling fans. However, there does come a time when data-driven information leads to there being no argument about which era was most successful.

Recently, Cody explained to Sean Ross Sapp why, opinions aside, he considers the modern era to be the new "golden era" from a bottom-line standpoint.

"The reality of it is, not knocking, from an opinion base, but we’re at the most successful time in wrestling history. You’re in it and you’re covering it in your prime. Attitude Era, amazing. Opinions and all that, amazing, but from a factual bottom-line standpoint, tickets, and things if that nature, this is the new golden era, and we get to be in it. Everyone wants to be the one, ‘Oh, it’s because of me, and I’m leading the charge.’ Screw that. We’re in it. We get to all be part of it. It’s a team effort," explained Rhodes.

To support Cody's point, WWE is routinely setting new benchmarks, outing this year's WrestleMania, which featured Cody Rhodes in the headlining match against Roman Reigns, as the most successful WrestleMania of all time.

Also, AEW is going to put on a massive stadium show with their debut in London at Wembley Stadium for AEW All In, the spiritual successor to the 2018 event that Cody and The Young Bucks promoted, which arguably kick-started this new era. Fans can learn more about AEW All In here.

Elsewhere in this interview, Cody opens up about his current relationship with Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Kenny Omega, as well as the bond they will always share with one another.
