Darby Allin reflects on what it means for him to see young kids dressing up like him.
Darby Allin is an enigmatic performer and one of the pillars of AEW. Throughout the last five years, he's cultivated an organic relationship with the AEW fanbase and much like Sting back in his heyday, Darby sometimes has young fans in the crowd who dress up like him and paint their face as he does.
Speaking with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp during a recent interview, Allin opened up about how special it is for him to be able to make an impact in people's lives in this way just as Bam Margera and Tony Hawk made an impact on him.
"It’s awesome when I get to see those photos because I remember being a kid knowing how much someone....back in the day, my guys growing up were Tony Hawk, Bam Margera, so the fact that you can impact someone’s life and literally change their life is awesome. It’s nothing I take for granted. It’s really cool to have that impact and reach. All it takes is one person to let somebody know they are capable of anything they want to do in life. If I have to be that guy -- people look at me, I was a dishwasher working at the 99 cents store. Anything is possible, kids," said Darby.
Darby has gotten to appear on TV alongside Tony Hawk. He has even allowed Tony Hawk to plant himself on his broken foot while skateboarding.
Darby also may have played a role in repairing the relationship between Steve-O and Bam Margera. Learn more about that at this link.
