WWE is fresh off of Evolution, but it's nothing new for Reality of Wrestling and Title Match Wrestling Network -- they have their fourth all-women IPPV coming up this weekend with Ladies Night Out 4.
Aerial Monroe is booked on the show against IMPACT Wrestling's Kiera Hogan. When I spoke to her recently, I asked Aerial to open up about the differences in the backstage environment when working an all-women's show, and some of her aspirations in bringing women's wrestling forward on the indie circuit.
"Being an all-women's show, you have to bring more. It's like a friendly competition, like 'my match is going to be better.' It just makes you want to be better. I see what you're doing, I'm going to change things," said Monroe. "I want to be in a ladder match soon. I haven't been in one. I'd love to see a good, well put-together ladder."
This isn't Monroe's first all-women rodeo, either. She appeared in the WWE Mae Young Classic, even teaming with Candice LeRae, a former foe of her husband Cedric Alexander. As she told us, if not for Cedric, WWE may have been unable to contact her for the appearances.
"Cedric told me. Canyon Ceman sent him an email saying 'We're trying to get find your wife for the Mae Young Classic.' (Cedric) said 'what's wrong with your messages!? They're trying to contact you for the Mae Young Classic!' I sent them an email and said I was very interested in doing this. They quickly got me all the paperwork, and it was happening!," said Monroe.
Monroe also appeared for Major League Wrestling earlier this year, where she'd wrestle Santana Garrett. Monroe pointed at the opportunity to learn from wrestling veteran's as a giant positive from the experience.
"It was quite nice. You had Low Ki on the card, MVP was there. Being able to get that feedback from them -- they've been in this game for a very long time and know exactly what they're doing. It was great to be in the same company as those great wrestlers," said Monroe.
