As things stand, pro wrestling airs on USA, Pop TV, El Rey, BEin Sports, and numerous syndicated networks.
The recent All In show also saw the first hour broadcast on WGN America, gaining even more exposure for one star in particular in Brian Cage. He and Pentagon Jr. had the fortune of appearing for El Rey (Lucha Underground), Pop TV (IMPACT Wrestling) and WGN America all over the course of ten days. With the two also taking bookings all over the world.
Until the last year or so, that wasn't an option, as promotions would prevent their stars from appearing for other television programs. Brian Cage spoke to Fightful.com about the shift that has occurred between promotions to facilitate the change in mentality.
"I'm not sure exactly what the switch was, but there's been a thriving market in the independents and these other companies. There's so many different outlets and types of wrestling and fans that enjoy these products and avenues. The fact that we've slowly meshed together is awesome for everyone. You have Lucha Underground vs. Impact at WrestleCon, you have ROH and Impact on the Jericho Cruise. Hopefully it's a sign of what's to come. It's unreal and it's unheard of, but it's fantastic that it's happening. I didn't even realize that it's happening in that kind of time frame. It's incredible," said Cage.
