Exclusive Info On A Previous CM Punk Wrestling Appearance Under A Hood

CM Punk is again the talk of the wrestling town.

Punk made a masked appearance at an MKE wrestling event on Friday, and shortly after, Fightful Select reported it wasn't his first. Now Select has some more details on that.

Punk appeared at a Freelance Wrestling show on December 4, 2015, titled "Raw Power." He would manage Kikutaro in a match against Darin Corbin and Dick Justice. Punk was clad in a cloak and tossed out salt ahead of the match. The commentators referred to him as Kikutaro's "nameless mentor," and didn't get involved in the match.

You can see photos of the appearance below.

The plan for the appearance was to do a reveal on Wrestling Road Diaries 3, which also featured Punk's then-friend Colt Cabana. However, Punk and Cabana's falling out prevented that, we're told. We reached out to people involved in the production of the documentary, who opted not to comment on the matter.

Barstool Sports' Robbie Fox tweeted on the situation

The event is still up on IndependentWrestling.TV. You can see a trailer for the event below, but Punk isn't featured in it at all.

Wrestling Inc's Nick Hausman stated that at one point of his 2019 appearance, the plan was for Punk to take off the mask, but that didn't happen. Instead, he left still masked, getting into a waiting car. This is a stark contrast to the 2015 appearance, where a few people knew and he was seen backstage, but still kept a secret.
