When the third season of Lucha Underground was about to finish airing on the El Rey Network, rumors and reports of the show's end were widespread, but with a fourth season already taped, one of the show's biggest stars is already hoping for yet another season.
Pentagon Jr., who finished the third season of Lucha Underground as the Lucha Underground champion, spoke with Fightful and talked about any potential changes we could see this upcoming season compared to previous seasons. While Pentagon Jr. did not mention any specifics changes done to the show, he did say the spirit of the show remains unchanged and that fans should expect new faces and surprises aplenty on the new show.
"Lucha Underground will still have the same essence, there will be a lot of surprises coming this season and there's going to be a lot of new people integrated into the show. I think this whole project is very good and that this fourth season is going to do well [based on the tapings]. I think the fifth season is going to be even better though. I feel like the public is going to be very receptive and positive towards this season, just as they have been receptive for the past three seasons," Pentagon Jr. said.
Although Pentagon Jr. spoke of a fifth season of Lucha Underground, talks of another season is more wishful thinking. Pentagon Jr. admits he doesn't know when a fifth season of the show would happen if it does happen at all.
"Well, my hope is that there will be a fifth season. I don't know when there is going to be a fifth season, but I really wish there would be a fifth season for the show," Pentagon Jr. said.
Pentagon Jr. also spoke about the relationship between Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling as well as his triple threat match against Austin Aries and Fenix for the Impact World Championship at the Redemption pay-per-view, which can be seen at this link.
