A wicked pissah on Smackdown.
There was so little on Smackdown to report this past week, so instead, we pulled up some news from the much talked about Sheamus-Jeff Hardy segment from last month's show that featured Jeff tossing urine on Sheamus.
As reported on Fightful Select and the Fightful Wrestling Weekly, we learned some of the names associated with putting the angle together.
In case you were wondering, the now infamous segment featuring Jeff Hardy tossing a jug full o' piss on Sheamus' face was produced by D-Von Dudley and written by creative writer Zach Hyatt. There was also a road writer involved that we couldn't identify. The segment had originally called for the doctor to be named "Dr. Kirshenbaum," but it was never referenced on commentary for whatever reason.
The segment was a digital success, doing about 1.3 million views on Youtube alone in the month since it aired. As far as critical success, not so much. The Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy angle has been among the most panned of WWE's 2020 year. Even Matt Hardy himself said he had concerns as to how WWE was handling his brother's previous addictions.
