Jody Threat discusses getting more opportunities to work on her character.
Jody Threat has been touted for her in-ring ability over the years, but in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling she's been given more opportunities to work on her acting and character work as she continues to establish herself in the Knockouts division.
In June 2023, Threat spoke with Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds and gave an honest assessment of her "acting," saying it's a little bit awkward.
Appearing on In The Weeds before TNA Hard To Kill, Jody was asked how she's grown in the non-wrestling segments.
"I've had more opportunities to work out of the ring, but on-screen, which has been very cool. The storyline with KiLynn King and myself, where she was acussing me of hurting her tag team partner. It wasn't me for the record. Just working along and having some sort of substance has been really helpful. As well as, I don't know if you saw our throwback show, where I got to be Red Letter, that was cool, getting out of my usual character and trying out something new. I've had a few opportunities to work on that, and I'm feeling a little more in my comfort zone when it comes to that sort of stuff, which is cool," she said.
Asked about being Red Letter for the IPWF Throwback show, Threat said it was presented to her by the writing team.
"I was given this character. 'How do you feel about this?' 'Yes, I will accept this,' and I just kind of ran with it," she said.
Threat will compete in the second-ever Knockouts Ultimate X match at TNA Hard To Kill.
