Mike D Vecchio talks about his recent excursion to Japan with AJPW.
From November to mid December of last year, Belgian pro wrestler Mike D Vecchio was on excursion in Japan with All Japan Pro Wrestling, competing in the Real World Tag League tournament alongsie Makoto Oisho.
While speaking with Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Mike D looked back on his time in Japan, discussing the respect he received at the hands of Japanase fans.
"First of all, the experience in Japan was like... I felt so valued. For the Japanese fans, like, I'm kind of... I'm like a manga for them. Big, big, big, big respect from the fans. For them, the pro wrestling is culture. So like the sumo and all those sports. You feel it. Like in Europe, is a little bit different. In some country, when you tell to someone, oh, I'm a pro wrestler, he will say, oh, that's that's fake. In japan you feel the respect of the fans. This is the big things I saw first. The first thing Isaw is that the difference of respect from the fans. Everything, everything, money and everything. It was my first big experience. It went very well. Japan loved me. I went to dinner twice with the president. It was a very good experience. I cannot wait to come back there."
Mike and Oisho would exit the tournament during the block stages.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Mike D spoke about his upcoming trip to the US for WrestleMania week. You can read more about that here.
