MSL Discuses MLW Working With Other Promotions, Provides Update On Aramis And Arez

Major League Wrestling took the next step in its progression by premiering MLW Underground on REELZ on February 7. The company had been searching for the right media partner after previously airing on BeIN Sport, YouTube, DAZN, and VICE TV.

MLW is home to top heavyweights like Jacob Fatu, Alex Kane, and Alex Hammerstone along with established luchadors such as Microman and Lince Dorado. MLW has had an open door policy, allowing talent to work independent events.

Jacob Fatu was part of one of the biggest cross-promotional matches in 2022, taking on IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander at Ric Flair's Last match. The bout ended in a no contest and fans have wondered if a rematch between the two would ever come to fruition.

"I'm open to it. It takes two to tango. There has certainly been times when I've spoken to Scott D'Amore or Tony Khan or Billy Corgan or whoever else. Sometimes you can figure out a collaboration, sometimes you can't. Right now, for us, we have a lot of steam on the MLW brand, we have this new big TV deal with REELZ, we have thousands and thousands of people every week checking us out for the first time as our fanbase starts to grow. It's not something I'm particularly focused on right this second. There is certainly, I don't want to put a specific guy on the spot, but there has certainly been times recently where the reach out was ignored or not reciprocated. Everybody is busy running their own organization, you don't know what's going on in their end. My hand is always there if the other hand reaches out," MLW COO MSL told Fightful.

MLW has a working relationship with AAA and have featured talents Arez and Aramis in past programming.

Arez hasn't been used since Battle Riot 2022 while Aramis hasn't wrestled for the promotion since April 2022. It was reported that both men had asked for their releases from MLW.

MSL said about the situation, "I saw some of that stuff online, a lot of which just wasn't true. The person that put that stuff online, they did a lot of damage to people they thought they were trying to help because those agreements were done through AAA. I have to work that out with AAA. I don't think that gentleman on Twitter was aware of that, and also posted a lot of stuff that wasn't true. It's being sorted out, but you're dealing with people with another company where the agreement is with the other company. I can't go anymore in depth than that. That's what kind of complicated things."

Arez and Aramis have continued to take independent bookings despite not making appearances on MLW television.

Fans can watch MLW Underground on REELZ Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET.
