Shortly after the post, Fightful began receiving inquiries from WWE talent and employees about Orton, who volunteered up information that as of right now, Orton's WWE deal is up next summer. He was reported to have signed a ten-year deal in 2010, but considering a number of variables, the length of the deal could have always changed. The information is expanded on during Fightful Select's Backstage Report Podcast.

AEW Champion Chris Jericho commented on the photo, saying "Send in a tape and some pix and I’ll see what I Can do...."

Luke Harper, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder all have contracts expiring within the next year as well, and were tagged in Orton's post.

Earlier this year, Fightful reported that Orton has not made it a secret backstage that he would be willing to talk to All Elite Wrestling if the opportunity presented itself. Orton spoke on a game stream recently and said that he enjoyed the first episode of AEW Dynamite.
