Renzo Rose Believes Irish Wrestling Fans Want More Than Just Good In Ring Wrestling

Renzo Rose discusses the Irish wrestling scene.

Italian professional wrestler Renzo Rose has found a home in Ireland with Over The Top Wrestling and has competed in the company throughout his career, recently capturing the No Limits Championship from Trent Seven in his home country. While Rose has not reached the very top of the Irish scene, he sees it as his second home within the industry.

While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan, Rose was asked for his outlook on the Irish wrestling scene from a foreign talents perspective, noting that he believes the Irish scene wants both great character work and bell to bell wrestling.

"Well, the Irish wrestling scene is I think very different because, I say the UK scene, but it's mostly England is based on good technical wrestling, basically, or good workers, pretty much. But you rarely see lately like a mixture of character and workers like usually if they're both of them, they get signed straight away. So you kind of get this unbalance, I think, in the England scene. But the Irish wrestling scene has more of that, has more leaning, I think, into the American wrestling scene than the UK one. It's been actually very good for me working here and being able to lean in into that aspect. I felt that the crowd here wanted to see more of that. They want to see, they want you to be established as a good worker, a good wrestler, like they want you to be good. But they want something else as well. As soon as the crowd established that, okay, you can go, they want to see something more. The Irish fans, at least. For me, I found that gap in the market and I tried to lean into that. That's what I think is different um it's more leaning into the American style. But still, as you said, there's a lot of UK english imports that gets the tecnical level."

Rose has been NLW Champion for over 100 days now, defeating top OTT names such as B Cool and Robbie X with the title on the line.
