Steve Maclin calls his shot.
IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan-Pro Wrestling will partner up once against for Multiverse United 2 on August 20 for a joint event that will feature IMPACT talent colliding with NJPW talent.
Steve Maclin is the reigning IMPACT World Champion and as the champion, he's called his shot as to who he wants to face at the event.
"KENTA," told Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds. "Give me KENTA. I've been calling out KENTA for the longest time. He's a match that I've wanted for so long. Granted, I'll take on anybody from New Japan, but KENTA is the one that I wanted at the first Multiverse, and that didn't happen, he had (Minoru) Suzuki, which is fine, that's just the way it goes and there were other plans on my end. KENTA is one of those ones where, he is someone I look to in this business and I respect and I want to put my balls on the line of going against KENTA. I want to test myself going against him."
KENTA successfully defended the NJPW Strong Openweight Title against Minoru Suzuki at Multiverse United 1 during WrestleMania weekend. Maclin did not compete at the event.
No matches have been announced for Multiverse 2. Fans can find out who IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo would like to face by clicking here.
