Terry Thatcher: Eddie Kingston Is One Of The Most Professional Talents I've Ever Worked With

Terry Thatcher reflects on getting to work with Eddie Kingston.

Terry Thatcher is one of the longest running veterans of the Irish scene, not only wrestling some of the top homegrown talent in the nation, but also against top imports brought in from other countries. Over the years, Thatcher has wrestled the likes of Evil Uno, Timothy Thatcher, Bronson Reed and Eddie Kingston.

While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Terry reflected on working with Kingston before he took off as a star with All Elite Wrestling.

"I thought like, he's like king of the indies type guy. But I was a bit, bit in awe of him until I started talking to him and then I was like, oh, he's like the soundest dude in the world. Slightly peeled behind the curtain, but like even like on the day and we're trying to figure out like, Well, which way is the match gonna go and the way he put it to us is just like 'well Thatcher's gonna be here next week i won't so doesn't make sense for me to get get the win.' Like, you know yeah he's just genuinely one of the most professional people i've ever worked with, from just calling the match was, I don't know, maybe a half an hour before we went out and I think we had a pretty decent match, but, like, it was just, cool, we'll do this, we'll do this, you do this, cool, I'll do this, and it was like, it was like clockwork, and it was, it really, really put me at ease, because this is my first stadium match as well, however many stadium shows there have been, and I hadn't been on one of them, so it was almost, it was almost a bit of a, like, a testimonial match for me, that Thatcher finally gets a, gets a, a shot on the big stage but um uh he made me work for it absolutely made me work for it but um i really really appreciated uh just his attitude towards uh towards the show and towards me just in general like he was just like I said, I'm absolutely delighted to see how far he's gone because like I said, couldn't have imagined that at the time that he'd be a TV wrestler. Just, yeah, just did not, did not seem like he was, it was on the cards for him. But then again, was AEW around? I think it may have been around or may have just started. So still very early days for them. Yeah, no, it's perfect place for, for someone like Eddie. he's one of my favourite aspects of AEW and even though I don't unfortunately I don't get the chance to watch AEW a lot I always try and keep up with what he's been up to he's genuinely one of my faves."

Kingston most recently compete don the March 20th edition of AEW Dynamite, dropping the Continental Championship to Kazuchika Okada.

Elsewhere in Thatcher's interview with Fightful, he reflected on working with Bronson Reed. You can read more about that here.
