Top Brass In NXT Said To Be 'Very High' On Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross, in his short time on NXT, has already garnered supporters in high places.

Prior to suffering a shoulder injury at NXT TakeOver XXX, Karrion Kross was rapidly becoming a favorite of NXT top brass, Triple H and Matt Bloom.

Almost immediately after becoming available, those in power at NXT had big plans for Kross and Scarlett, leading to his almost immediate championship victory. Kross is also said to be easy to work with, as originally reported by Fightful Select:

A source within NXT confirmed to us that Karrion Kross' push has been the product of both Triple H and Matt Bloom being very high on him. As soon as Kross became available and met with WWE they were in on pushing him heavily. One person in NXT noted that they've never seen anyone there in their time held in such high regard by management, and it's showing in the push for Kross. He's said to have been easy to deal with since appearing in NXT after having a contract dispute in IMPACT.

Following his championship Victory and subsequent shoulder injury, Triple H spoke very highly of Karrion Kross in the post-show media conference call after TakeOver XXX.

"It's very painful. You got him through it and he got to the end. I know he's -- bittersweet because he's ecstatic in the moment, he is excited in the moment. This is a dream come true for both him and Scarlett. They have worked an entire career to get to this moment. I can tell you that from the bottom of his heart and I've had that conversation since the first day. So to him, to get here in talking to him earlier in the day, what he almost felt like was this crazy, surreal moment where the two of them, both he and Scarlett, kept saying, 'it's hard for us to believe we're in here in this moment and it's hard for us to even envision that we are like they kept waiting for it to change today or for something to happen that would change everything. Then you get to that moment with the uncertainty of something like this in the end, and my heart breaks for him. I know everybody here does, but we'll see where he's at," Triple H said. "They're going through everything and as soon as we can get them in a facility, we'll get them an MRI and then we'll see where everything goes. Hopefully, it's not too crazy and we can figure out how to work around it or work through it or whatever that is."

Unfortunately, the injury was worse than expected and Kross was forced to vacate the NXT Championship.
