Finn Balor welcomes a dream match against Edge in Dublin.
On July 23, Edge took to social media and responded to Robert Stone, who reached out to Edge to join the Robert Stone Brand. Edge was willing to join the brand, but he had a couple of demands. Along with fuschia m&m’s and crushed velvet furniture on my bus, Edge requested a match with Finn Balor at TakeOver.
While Robert Stone might not be able to make the match happen, Balor has gladly accepted Edge's request.
"I would like to address that situation right now, Edge was saying he wanted to face Finn Balor at Takeover so if we could do it at Takeover Dublin all the better," Balor told Irish Mirror. "An absolute legend in the the ring, but what an absolute gent and a true pro outside the ring. I've always said it to both him and Christian that when they retired, I met them at a couple of media appearances and I said: 'lads, you two are like how I'd look to transition out of wrestling - to carry yourself with such professionalism - and to see him (Edge) back is fantastic. Getting the chance to wrestle with him would be even better."
NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin is currently scheduled for October 25, but NXT UK has not run any live events during the pandemic and it is unknown if the event will take place as scheduled. Edge is currently sidelined with a torn triceps.
