**UPDATE**

New Japan Pro Wrestling has confirmed via their official English website that Hiroyoshi Tenzan's injury is to his knee and he will miss the forthcoming Wrestling Dontaku tour and the Wrestling Dontaku event itself.

Former 4-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and 28-year veteran of professional wrestling Hiroyoshi Tenzan took to Twitter to announce that he has been taken to a local medical facility and is set to undergo surgery.

There was no further update or details about why Tenzan was hospitalized other than the tweet he sent out. The last time that Tenzan wrestled was in March during the New Japan Cup tournament tour and the veteran turned 48 years old just a few weeks ago.

As more details about Hiroyoshi Tenzan's health become available, we will update you here on Fightful.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan was not at Madison Square Garden for G1 Supercard last night but New Japan Pro Wrestling was represented as ROH and NJPW packed out "The Worlds Most Famous Arena". Fightful had live coverage of G1 Supercard and there was a post-event recap podcast with Mr. Warren Hayes and Sean Ross Sapp and that review is up on the Fightful Pro Wrestling YouTube channel
