Former GFW Champion Magnus Chose Not To Re-Sign With The Company

A few months ago, when GFW and IMPACT first merged, the GFW Titles were brought in and added as additional championships. One of those new champions was very familiar with the IMPACT Zone--Magnus. The former TNA Champ, now GFW Global Champ, dropped the title to Alberto El Patron in a "Winner Faces Lashley For The Unified Championship At Slammiversary" Match.

Turns out, he was under a handshake agreement with the company for that match, and wasn't under contract. He was only there to "preserve the lineage" of the GFW Title and drop it to Alberto El Patron, who is currently "preserving the lineage" of the title as we speak.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Magnus chose not to re-sign the offer that was presented to him by GFW. The report states that most GFW talent contracts have the stipulation within that GFW gets 10% of whatever the talent makes for matches outside of the company, and 100% of the profits of whatever merch is sold by the company that features the likeness of said talent. That may have been the contract offered to Magnus, as well.

Magnus, whose real names is Nick Aldis (under which he competed for GFW back before the Anthem Impact merger), is married to WWE Superstar Mickie James, currently on the RAW brand.
