Gable Steveson: WWE Just Wasn't The Right Time

On November 12, it was announced that Gable Steveson would be returning to Minnesota for his final year as an amateur wrestler.

Steveson was part of WWE from 2021, when he signed a NIL deal with the company, to May 2024 when he was released. He only wrestled one televised match in NXT.

Speaking at his re-introduction press conference, Gable was asked about his time in WWE.

"I think, WWE just wasn't the right time. I have a competitive edge to me. They knew that, and it was not the time for it. Maybe one day, if the stars align, it would be a great opportunity to do it again. I have no bad feelings with it. I have no bad blood with it. I would like to keep moving forward with everything I have going on," he said.

Steveson had a year of eligibility in wrestling left following his retirement in 2022 after winning his second consecutive Heavyweight championship. He’s expected to make his season debut on November 24.

Gable played in the NFL preseason for the Buffalo Bills, but was among the final roster cuts.
