Gail Kim is looking to expand the Knockouts division.
The division is currently spearheaded by the likes of Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich, Jody Threat, Tasha Steelz, Ash By Elegance, Gisele Shaw, and Alisha Edwards.
In recent months, the division has also taken some hits, losing the likes of Deonna Purrazzo, Trinity, and Mickie James to other promotions.
While speaking to Jim Varsallone for a new interview, Kim said that she’s looking to add to a Knockouts division that she already considers to be great.
“We have a great roster of girls right now, a central core. I’m looking to add to that right now, we’ve got some surprises coming up that I think will be great until the end of the year that you’ll see. Looking to rebuild this tag team division because we’ve been lacking a little bit in that department because we’ve only had two tag teams really. We want to grow that. I really want to make sure that the Knockouts have a strong tag division, a strong [singles] division, and even a secondary storyline that’s very strong. Even to have the girls mixed in, we have Alisha Edwards with The System, she’s managing and wrestling and our tag team champion. I just want those girls to get experience in every faucet of the business and see what they enjoy and what their strengths are because I think everyone has different strengths. I think it’s important to utilize all women in any role that they’re good at, can’t just be wrestling and that’s it. I think managers are just started to making a resurgence again in terms of importance and I love seeing that.”
Elsewhere in a separate interview, Kim talked about the working relationship between WWE and TNA. Learn more about those comments here.
