Glenn Jacobs comments on the WWE-UFC merger.
Glenn Jacobs, better known as Kane in WWE, is a true example of making the most of every opportunity. Originally debuted on the WWE roster as Dr. Issac Yankem, D.D.S, Jacobs would also portray the fake Diesel character before becoming Kane in the Autumn of 1997.
Through the years, Kane got to work very closely with Vince McMahon during the days before WWE was even a publicly traded company. Now WWE is not even under the majority control of any member of the McMahon family. WWE is part of TKO Group Holdings, under the Endeavor umbrella as part of a merger with the UFC.
Speaking with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge, Jacobs commented on the merger saying that while the move is a surprise, McMahon always does what's best for business.
"It was surprising to me, too. In the end, Vince always does what's best for business. So I think, from a big-picture perspective, it's a great thing for everybody and the benefit for all of our fans, and in the end, that's what it's all about."
As part of the recent changes in WWE, Triple H has taken over control of the creative direction of WWE television. Jacob says he's very much in favor of this move, praising the mind that his former on-screen rival has for the industry
"Yeah, man. I'm a huge fan. Triple H has the best wrestling mind of anybody [that I've ever known.] So, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the product is moving forward."
Kane has not wrestled the match since the 2021 Royal Rumble. He is currently serving a second term as the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
In 2021, Kane was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. A year later, his "brother," Mark "The Undertaker" Calaway took his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Calaway recently spoke about how the WWE rings got a lot softer once Vince McMahon started bumping in them. Read more here.
