Gunther and Damian Priest trade words.
On the July 15 edition of WWE Raw, Gunther and Priest came face-to-face just weeks before their World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE SummerSlam. Gunther kicked off the promo by slamming Priest, stating that his reign with the World Heavyweight Championship has been nothing. Gunther told Priest to just hand him the title to avoid the match at SummerSlam.
In response, Priest said that he won't be giving up the title that easy, stating that he had to fight on the street for 20 years to get to WWE.
Gunther quickly interrupted Priest and said that being on the street is a choice that Priest made himself. 'The Ring General' also made fun of Priest's parents for not providing him with basic needs, stating that his own parents made sure to provide him with everything. Gunther also taunted Priest for having to grind on the street while he was constantly getting calls from WWE to sign with the company.
The promo segment came to an end after Priest stated that Gunther will have to fight from the bottom after losing at SummerSlam. Gunther went nose to nose with Priest after 'El Campeon' called him a boring, conceited, and privileged scumbag.

After the segment, Priest picked up a big singles victory over Braun Strowman. Gunther tried to return to the ring to brawl with Priest, but 'The Ring General' retreated after eating a clothesline from the World Heavyweight Champion.
